Sorry for no update…

I was so busy the past few weeks. Family came 2 weeks ago, then busy preparing my case presentation, busy finishing reports. And there are still lots of stuffs waiting to be done. Aaahhhhh. I need a break! Which will be in June where I will travel to Kota Kinabalu and Miri, and in July which I’ll be spending 2 weeks back in July! Waaa Hooooo! I need to finish most of the unfinished stuffs before these 2 breaks so I won’t have nightmare thinking about them.

Last Wednesday, while I was sitting infront of the ‘kaunter ubat’ thinking what I should eat for lunch, a middle age woman approached me:

Woman: Boleh tanya?
Jimmie: Bolehhhhh…
Woman: Bapa saya ada stroke, boleh saya tanya dia boleh makan ubat ubat ini ka? (showing me a prescription with Calcium and Calcitriol)
Jimmie: Rasanya tiada masalah. Bila bapa kamu kena stroke?
Woman: Hari Ahad.
Jimmie: *feeling something is not right* Mana bapa kamu sekarang? Dalam ward sudah?
Woman: Dekat rumah. Dia kat rumah, badan sudah separuh mati.
Jimmie: *bangs head on the table* Kenapa tak pergi Emergency?!
SEKARANG TAU, jangan tunggu lagi!
Woman: Oohh baik, terima kasih banyak banyak yahhh
Jimmie: Sama sama *-_-*

See how uneducated some people are in small areas in Malaysia like Tawau. They don’t even know what kind of situations are considered emergency. I don’t have the heart to leave them in this state. Need to educate them more. So, I’ll be staying back in Sabah for another 3 years for that purpose (and also for the housing allowance $$$). Yes, I’m a noble guy, sacrifying my needs to entertaiment in the city by staying in a small town. Also, the people in Tawau are generally more polite than people in Peninsular. That’s a fact.

A picture of me wearing a tie after few months of not wearing. For a special occasion (not my marriage!): hospital group picture taking yesterday :)

WTF situation

I have worked with so many doctors, and this is the 1st time I have seen a snoobish and cocky doctor. Don’t act confident with your answer if you don’t know the answer. I am the one with books related to medicines, don’t try to fool me by telling me the wrong answer. Don’t act cocky when I query you. DON’T ever TRY to say ‘SIAPA YANG AJAR KAU?’ and ‘SEMUA ORANG TAHU IT’S 6 WEEKS’ again. I have got ALOT of references and books to prove you wrong. Even nurses knew that it’s only for 2 weeks, not 6 weeks as claimed by you. You are lucky that I couldn’t contact the specialist to tell him how you wanted to treat the patient, you are lucky I only managed to contact the Senior MO to teach you. You are just a HO, even MO or physicians or specialists are not that rude when they are queried. Because they all know that they can make mistakes sometimes, and it’s my job to minimise these mistakes if possible to 0%. All I want is to make sure the patient is well treated, and I’m sure that’s your aim too. So if you are don’t know the answer, just admit it instead of telling the wrong answers. See who you are playing with, you are playing drugs with me, the pharmacist, who can look up for sources and references faster than you can say ‘Oopps, I’m wrong’.

My mood was so foul after that incident that morning that I wanted to take off in the afternoon. But I just couldn’t with so many patients to be discharged and waiting for their medications.

My mood was like the face on top of me, when the problem is settled, I had to revert back to the face that I showed in this picture for the sake of the patients. I don’t want them to see an angry pharmacist :P

Ta dah!
